Six actresses vie for the role of a lifetime - a comedy about women, friendship and competition
The Actresses is an ensemble comedy about women, friendship and competition. What happens when six beautiful, talented and ambitious actresses are pitted against each other to play the role of a lifetime? Will friendships survive? Will the director survive? The stakes get higher and the action crazier as six gets culled down to four, then four down to a final two. In the end the coveted role will go to the actress who has the most ‘chemistry’ with the Hollywood leading man. Just how far are these two women willing to go to get their heart’s desire? With echoes of classical Hollywood films such as All About Eve, and The Women, and in the style of Robert Altman’s great ensemble comedies such as Nashville, and A Wedding, The Actresses is a sharply observed, funny and moving insight into celebrity, competition and friendship.
